Adventure Elements sea kayak specialists

About Us - The Staff

All the team at Adventure Elements paddle with each other outside of work and like to share a bit of banter with each other down at the local. We all believe that the coaching and learning is an important part of any course but so is socialising and chating with our clients. All our staff are friendly and like to make your course as fun and relaxing as it is informative and rewarding.

James Stevenson - Company Owner and Kayak Coach

Aspirant Level 5 Sea Coach, Level 3 Inland, Level 2 Canoe, Mountain Leader, SPA Climbing Award.

James Stevenson

James' love of adventure and particularly kayaking was kick started in boy scouts at the age of 13. Growing up in Yorkshire James would convince his folks to give him a lift to his local rivers and the Yorkshire coast for paddling trips with mates. Many years later he moved to North Wales to pursue his love of the outdoors and paddling. Having worked at several outdoor centres including time at Nigel Dennis' centre on Anglesey James has had the opportunity to travel many areas of the world exploring coastlines and rivers and working with a wide range clients.

An enthusiastic paddler and coach James loves to see progression within the people he teaches. Relaxed, friendly and committed James' style on the water is sure to inspire confidence and create a fun environment to learn in.

Pete Jones - Sea Kayak Coach

Aspirant Level 5 Sea Coach, A5 Assessor, Mountain Leader, SPA climbing Award.

Pete Jones

Well known in the sea kayaking world as a cheerful, keen and solid person to paddle with. Pete is a character that will make sure your time on the water is never dull. Years of coaching experience, including 10 years as head of kayaking at the Anglesey Sea and Surf Centre means Pete knows exactly what he's talking about when it comes to teaching groups on the water. Pete is also a well travelled expedition paddler and has recently returned from a 2 month unsupported trip on the West Coast of Greenland.

Having just got himself a yacht we are hoping Pete doesn’t disappear of into the sunset just yet and stays around to pass on his knowledge and love of kayaking for a bit longer. Just make sure you have filled him up with at least three cups of tea in the morning!!!

Gareth Davies

Highly skilled and enthusiastic, Gareth has a natural aptitude to outdoor pursuits and leadership within the outdoors. A solid paddler and very skilled climber Gareth doesn't seem to spend much time sitting down.
