This three day course will cover training in all elements of the BCU/UKCC 4 Star leadership Award. Holders of the 4 star award are qualified to lead groups in intermediate conditions. One of the days will include the Coastal Navigation Course. Please contact us if you wish to just do the coastal nav or the 4 star training.

This one day course is aimed at paddlers who feel they are almost at 3 star standard but would benefit from a day brushing up their skills. This Course is normally followed by a 3 star assessment the next day (book seperately).

This one day classroom based course is a pre requisit for the 4 star leaders award. The course will look at weather, tidal planning, navigation, trip planning and chart and map work. Although aimed at asspirant 4 star leaders this course is worthwile for anyone kayaking on the sea.

This 5 day course covers all aspects of the 4 star syllabus and more. The first day will be the Coastal navigation and tidal planning course, days 2 and 3 will cover personal skills, rescues, incident management and leadership. Days 4 and 5 will give students the opportunity to work with a group of mock clients and gain valuable leadership experience whilst a highly qualified coach will be observing and offering guidance and feedback. At the end of the course all students will be given feedback and a detailed action plan.
