Lake and General Inland Kayak Courses

Have a go at kayaking on one of Snowdonias sheltered lakes . You will use our general purpose kayaks and we will teach you how to control your kayak before embarking on a short trip. All this will take place under the watchful eye of one of our coaches.

An action packed day aimed at those with little or no experience of kayaking. The emphasis of the day will be on learning and fun. Our qualified coaches will go through everything you need to know to get you afloat in a kayak. This course will take place on one of the beautiful placid lakes or sheltered beaches that North Wales has on offer.

Canoeing is one of the best ways to relax on the water. Enjoy the age old skill of open boating with the stunning mountains of Snowdonia as your backdrop. Learn to paddle in the comfort and relative dryness of a canoe. We will take you to one of North Wales tranquil lakes and our coaches will help you with the skills needed to safely and confidently paddle your craft.

For those with little or no kayaking experience our coaches will guide you through the basics. We look at different craft, boat handling skills, kayak safety and equipment. This is an enjoyable weekend designed to encourage people to take up this fantastic sport.

If you have completed a discover course this is the ideal next step. Our coaches will introduce you to new boat handling skills and help you on the stepping stones towards becoming an intermediate. We will look at different disciplines of kayaking and there may also be the opportunity to gain your two star award.

This course will cover all aspects of the new BCU two star award. We will coach you through all the necessary skills, support strokes, rudder strokes and many more. Part of the course will also look at open canoe skills and the assessment can be taken in either craft.
