White Water Kayaking Courses

Previous experience - Kayak Taster/1 days kayaking
Feeling the call of the Rapid? Want to improve your confidence in moving water? North Wales is fortunate enough to have a range of excellent white water coaching venues. Over the two days we will look at white water boat handling skills, basic rescues, river features and equipment. By the end of the course you will know your breakouts from your ferry glides.

Skill Level- Completed taster session or have done at least one days kayaking.
A full on week where our coaches will guide you through the basics of white water paddling. Using a variety of different venues in North Wales we will hone your boat control skills to give you the confidence to tackle white water. The course will look at different aspects of manoeuvring your boat in and out of eddies, how to run a rapid, river safety and how to prevent capsizes.

Level - Has completed an intro course
For those wishing to take the next step in river paddling. We will start to look at more advanced boat handling techniques, how to read more technical rapids, playing on river features and white water safety skills. This Course is ideal for paddlers who want to start paddling grade three rapids.

Level - Has completed an intro course -BCU2*
A week of improving your skills on moving water. Our coaches will use a range of venues within North Wales to make sure you get the best from the course. The emphasis will be on improving boat control. We will start to introduce more advanced and efficient strokes to allow you to perfect your breakouts and break-ins. We will also look at line selections, safety, play boating and how to safely run a river.

Level - 3 Star standard (completed improvers course)
Ideal for paddlers that have there eyes set on that first grade four. We will take you to some of North Wales classic rivers. Our coaches will run you through the skills necessary to start pushing your grade. The course will cover advanced boat handling techniques, rescues and equipment and river leading techniques.

Level - 3 Star standard (completed improvers course)
