A well planned sea kayaking for schools programme can offer children and young people an experience unlike any other mode of travel. More spectacular scenery than you will see on any canoe trip. Amazing views that you can’t get from the top of even the highest mountains. Lazy days on flat water for the less adventurous. Massive seas, big surf and fast tidal races for the adrenaline junkie. Closer wildlife experiences than you can get anywhere on land, from diving guillemots to sometimes overly friendly seals.
Using the highest quality equipment and coaches, Adventure Elements is able to offer sea kayaking for schools programmes that offer an opportunity to put young people into amazing coastal environments which most adults never get to see.
From our Anglesey base, we work in some of the world’s best sea kayaking locations which offer the most spectacular scenery and amazing wildlife. We pride ourselves on offering top end, high quality experiences. Whether it be working toward a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, learning about the geography or biology of our coast line or simply enjoying one of our exciting expeditions, there are a wealth of sea kayaking for schools options to choose from.
We are passionate about paddling and the experience of being on the ocean. We have been running education experience for the last four years in partnership with Bryn-y-Mor Adventure but have recently become an Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (ALAA) recognised provider and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Approved Activity Provider in our own right. In an outdoor education market full of lots of excellent operators offering amazing experience, we hope that we stand out as one of the only companies specializing in using sea kayaking and the ocean environment to provide recreational and educational experiences for young people.
Schools will enjoy Adventure Elements’ high coaching standards and low ratios. James Stevenson, the company’s owner and lead instructor is a British Canoeing level 5 coach and amongst the best in the world. Along with our other highly qualified staff, James gets a great deal from working with school groups who enjoy the same quality instruction as provided on our adult courses.
We are in a great sea kayaking location, with two meeting points on Anglesey: one on the banks of the beautiful Menai Straits and the second near Traerddur Bay. They have good facilities as well as storage for our range of high quality kayaks. With excellent links with good group accommodation on Anglesey, we can offer excellent combined packages which weave together instruction on and off the water along with accommodation. We also have our own bunkhouse that is accessible only by sea kayak. Whilst not offering 5 star accommodation, it does offer an excellent expedition experience!
